Apply for Aid
At UEI, we understand our students’ concerns about paying for their education. We are committed to helping you find ways to help finance your education and can assist you in assessing the financial aid benefits you may qualify to receive.
To get started, follow these steps to apply for aid:
- Contact the Financial Planning department of UEI. The services offered by the Financial Planning department are available to all current and prospective students Monday through Friday. Ask to speak to a financial planning officer. To learn more about general financial aid availability and qualifications, you may contact UEI here or by calling 1-888-768-4162.
- Fill out the required financial assistance forms, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form can be found online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/, or we can help you complete it.
- Make an appointment for a one-on-one meeting with a member of UEI’s financial planning staff to discuss your financial aid needs and qualifications. There are various types of financial aid, highlighted below, available to those who qualify, which we can give you more information about.
- To receive a financial aid award, you must be enrolled at UEI. Please see more about our process for admissions here.
Forms of Financial Aid that may be Available
Contact UEI’s Financial Planning department directly for updates on loan types, requirements and current availability.
- Federal Pell Grants
Funds are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need based on Department of Education guidelines. A Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid. - Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
FSEOG funds are allocated to UEI by the federal government, and priority is given to students who receive Federal Pell Grants. Funds are awarded to students with exceptional financial need and do not need to be repaid. - Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan
A Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan is a low-interest loan made by a lender (bank, credit union, or savings and loan association) to students. Eligibility is based on financial need. - Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan
An Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan is a low-interest loan made by a lender (bank, credit union, or savings and loan association) to independent students. This loan is not based on proving financial need. - Federal PLUS Loan
Federal PLUS Loans are low-interest loans made by a lender (bank, credit union, or savings and loan association) to the parents of a dependent student, and are subject to credit approval. - Private Alternative Loan Programs
Private alternative loan programs are designed to provide students and parents with tuition assistance beyond what federal financial aid and can offer. Loan applicants are evaluated based on their credit history and other factors. - Federal Work-Study Program
The Federal Work-Study Program allows eligible students to work part-time to meet a portion of their educational expenses. These funds are allocated to UEI by the federal government. Applications for a work-study program are available at the Financial Planning department and will be accepted once the student has started school.
Scholarships
UEI offers various types of scholarships to provide additional financial assistance to those who qualify. The scholarships do not need to be repaid. The applications for various types of scholarships are available at the Financial Planning department.
