Today
- Continuing the Mission
UEI College operates dozens of campuses across California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Georgia, New Mexico, and Texas. The institution remains focused on its mission of providing quality, short-term career education in high-demand fields.
July
- Houston Campus Opening
UEI continued its Texas expansion by launching a new Houston, TX campus in July 2025. The Houston campus offers programs in allied health and skilled trades and began enrolling students for classes starting August. This further broadened UEI’s reach in the state of Texas.
April
- Community Service Award
UEI College’s commitment to community engagement was recognized when UEI College Oceanside received the 2025 CAPPS Excellence in Community Service Award (from the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools). This statewide award honored Oceanside’s impactful, student-led service initiatives addressing local community needs. UEI Oceanside was formally recognized for this honor at the CAPPS annual policy conference in 2025.
March
- Entry in New Markets
UEI opened a campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico in March 2025. This campuses in Albuquerque marked significant milestones, bringing UEI’s career training programs to the Southwest and solidifying a presence in seven states.

November
- Texas Expansion (Dallas)
UEI College announced the opening of a new campus in Dallas, Texas in November 2024. The Dallas campus – UEI’s first in Texas – offers hands-on training programs in high-demand fields (allied health, skilled trades, etc.) and welcomed its first students in early 2025. This move into Texas reflects UEI’s ongoing geographic growth.

- Accreditation Renewals
In November 2024, ACCSC reaffirmed accreditation for several UEI College campuses. An ACCSC public notice reported five-year renewals (the maximum term) of accreditation for four IEC/UEI schools: UEI College Gardena, Riverside, Sacramento, and the Las Vegas campus of United Education Institute. These renewals confirmed that those campuses continue to meet ACCSC’s standards for educational quality and compliance. UEI College campuses are variously accredited by ACCSC or by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), depending on location.
2022
January
- Second Atlanta-Area Campus
United Education Institute (UEI) – under the original UEI brand – opened a new campus in Stone Mountain, Georgia in January 2022. This became the second UEI campus in the metro Atlanta area (complementing the Morrow, GA campus addition in the 1990s), allowing UEI to serve more students in Georgia with programs in healthcare and trades.

June
- Mesa, AZ Campus
UEI College opened a new campus in Mesa, Arizona in June 2021. This was UEI’s second campus in Arizona (joining Phoenix) and expanded opportunities for students in the Phoenix metropolitan area to pursue UEI’s career training programs.
October
- First Campus in Washington
In October 2021, UEI College established its first campus in the Pacific Northwest with a new location in Tacoma, Washington. The Tacoma campus launch marked UEI’s entry into Washington state, extending its reach to West Coast students outside of California and Arizona.
2020
January
- Electrician Program Debuts
UEI College added an all-new Electrician Technician training program, launching first at the West Covina campus in early 2020. This short-term diploma program was introduced to meet growing industry demand for trained electricians and would later expand to other UEI locations.
March
- Welding Program Introduction
In 2020, UEI College’s Gardena campus became the first to offer a new Welding training program (a 10-month hands-on diploma program) designed for students pursuing careers in the skilled trades. The welding program launch further diversified UEI’s trades curricula alongside existing automotive and HVAC programs.
August
- Garden Grove Campus Opening
UEI College opened a new campus in Garden Grove, California in late August 2020. This 30,000 sq. ft. campus replaced UEI’s older Anaheim site, providing upgraded facilities and capacity to introduce additional programs. Upon opening, Garden Grove offered seven programs (Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Medical Billing & Coding, Business Office Administration, Criminal Justice, HVAC, and the newly added Automotive Technician program).
September
- ACCSC School Distinction Awards
UEI College received significant national honors from its accreditor in 2020. The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) selected UEI College Bakersfield for the 2019–2020 School of Distinction Award, recognizing the campus’s adherence to high educational standards and student outcomes. These awards highlighted UEI’s educational quality and staff excellence on a national stage.

- ACCSC Excellence Award
At the same time, UEI College Gardena was named the recipient of ACCSC’s 2020 Excellence in Student Services Award – recognizing the campus’s comprehensive student support programs and positive impact on student achievement.
November
- Navigating the Pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, UEI College adapted by implementing hybrid learning and issuing student grants. UEI deployed an online learning platform to keep students on track—ensuring continuity of training for essential careers like healthcare during the crisis.

- New Campus in Sacramento
UEI College announced the opening of a Sacramento, CA campus in May, further expanding its California footprint into the state’s capital region, offering programs in healthcare and skilled trades to serve Northern California students.
September
- Community Partnership
UEI College campuses demonstrated community support when the Gardena and Anaheim locations donated 144 classroom desks to local Los Angeles and Orange County schools[19], aiding K-12 education with needed resources.

- New Campus in Las Vegas
A new UEI campus opened in Las Vegas, Nevada – UEI’s first in that state – in December 2019.

- Integration of ACT Campuses
The formerly added ACT campuses were formally converted to the UEI brand in January 2010. United Education Institute (UEI) officially opens its first Georgia campus in Morrow.

- MCed Career College Addition
In July, MCed Career College in Fresno, CA joined the UEI family. The Fresno campus was converted into a UEI College branch, further expanding UEI’s presence in California’s Central Valley.
2011
- Gardena Campus Opens
UEI College opened a new campus in Gardena, California (relocating the former Cerritos facility). This campus launch was a direct result of the 2009 addition and provided a larger facility to serve students in the South Bay area.

- Riverside Campus Grand Opening
In November, UEI College celebrated the grand opening of a campus in Riverside, California, extending UEI’s reach into the Inland Empire region.

- Bakersfield Campus Launch
IEC opened a new UEI College campus in Bakersfield, CA – the first in California’s Central Valley – in March. (Bakersfield would later become one of UEI’s nationally recognized campuses.

1996
- IEC Holding Company Formed
International Education Corporation (IEC) was established as the parent holding company in 1996 to facilitate growth plans – including new branch campuses and program expansion under the UEI brand.
1998
- Addition of ACT
Advanced Career Training (ACT), a career school founded in 1975, joined the IEC family. This extended UEI’s reach beyond California.

UEI College originated as “United Electronics Institute,” established in Los Angeles County, California. The institution initially focused on electronics training.

- First Campus
The first campus opened in Van Nuys, CA, laying the foundation for UEI’s campus network.

- Name Change and Expanded Programs
To reflect a broader range of career-training programs beyond electronics, the school rebranded as United Education Institute (UEI). This marked an expansion into new vocational programs in sectors like healthcare, business, and other trades.
