Las Vegas Graduation Celebrates with Keynote by Councilmember Nancy Brune
United Education Institute Las Vegas fall 2025 graduates were celebrated in unforgettable fashion as City of Las Vegas Councilmember Nancy Brune delivered a warm, engaging, and deeply personal keynote address during the campus’s largest graduation ceremony to date.
Councilmember Brune spent time speaking with students before the ceremony, listening to their individual journeys and learning about the paths that led them to graduation. Students eagerly shared their stories, setting the tone for a meaningful and community-centered celebration.
Using a creative “Avenger Superpower” theme, Councilmember Brune highlighted the practical impact of the graduates’ skills and the essential roles they will play in the workforce.
“This graduating class can fix your teeth, fix your car, fix your AC, fix your wiring, and help with insurance bills,” she shared. “You are basically Avengers with real, practical skills.”
She emphasized the lasting value of vocational careers, noting that graduates have chosen fields that are essential, respected, and “impossible to replace with AI.” She also praised graduates for their ability to think critically and solve real-world problems—calling it a true superpower.
For many first-generation graduates, Councilmember Brune acknowledged the deeper significance of the moment, recognizing that they may be rewriting their family’s story. “We as a community should be and are proud of you,” she said. “Vocational education graduates keep the world turning.”
Adding to the celebration, County Commissioner William McCurdy II shared a congratulatory video message with the graduating class. He applauded students for taking bold steps toward building a stronger, more skilled, and more resilient community, while also thanking the families, friends, and instructors whose encouragement made the day possible.
