Electrical Technician Training Program

The Electrician Training Program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training that they need to begin a rewarding career as an electrician. The program teaches students how to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial applications.

The great thing about the program is that it can be completed, and students can earn their diploma in as few as 10 months, placing them on the fast track to becoming entry-level electrician technicians.

Students are taught electrical wiring by working on skill-building stations in on-site labs at UEI College. Upon graduation from the program, students should be able to install wiring in new buildings and maintain and repair existing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

The program is hybrid, meaning it combines both online learning and in-classroom and lab training, making it easier than ever before for students to graduate from the program.

Skills You Will Learn

The Electrician Technician Program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training needed to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Here is a list of some of the skills that the program will provide you with:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components

  • Following safety procedures on construction and job sites

  • Understanding electrical theory and power flow

  • Working with flexible conduits and cable assemblies

  • Applying National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements to real-world projects

  • Performing load calculations and setting up lighting outlets

  • Applying grounding and bonding methods

  • Wiring and troubleshooting residential and commercial electrical systems

  • Working with motors and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

  • Understanding low-voltage systems and solar panel fundamentals

About This Program

UEI’s Electrician Training Program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training that prepares them to become entry-level electricians.

As UEI Students train to become electrical technicians, they will be trained on installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems used to power modern homes and commercial buildings, making peoples’ lives easier and more convenient.

The great thing about the program is that it’s hybrid, meaning students have a more flexible schedule since the program combines both online learning with on-site classes and labs. Typically, you will spend two days on campus, practicing the hands-on skills you’ve learned using real equipment. Hands-on labs help prepare students for the types of electrical components and tools they will use in the real world.
