A Day of Joy: West Covina Mayor Inspires the Class of 2026
It was was an unforgettable day for UEI College West Covina as we celebrated our newest graduates! We were incredibly honored to welcome City of West Covina Mayor Letty Lopez-Viado, who delivered a touching and relatable keynote address to our students and their families.
Showing her tremendous support and excitement for the bright futures ahead, Mayor Lopez-Viado stayed through the very end of the ceremony to shake hands with every single graduate. She even brought the energy to the next level by leading our campus administration in a joyful dance to the song “Celebration”!
During her keynote speech, the Mayor shared powerful words of wisdom and encouragement with the Class of 2026:
- “Your education is more than a certificate or a diploma. It represents the skills you gain, the confidence you build, and the belief that you are capable of achieving your dreams.”
- “You should all be proud of the professional fields you are entering, where people will still need people. Nothing, including AI, can replace compassion, skilled hands, critical thinking, or the human connection your profession requires.”
- “Your work may not make headlines, but it will make a difference. It makes our community stronger.”
To cap off the wonderful event, Mayor Lopez-Viado presented Executive Director Irma Pirone with a special campus certificate of recognition, acknowledging the hard work, dedication, and success of our Class of 2026.
