It was an uplifting and unforgettable day for UEI College Reseda with two incredible graduation ceremonies and recognition from federal and state officials in Reseda’s districts.
UEI College Reseda was proud to welcome Congressman Brad Sherman back as keynote speaker for both graduation ceremonies, along with representation from Congresswoman Luz Rivas and California Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel.
Congressional and Assembly Representation from Reseda’s Legislative Districts
Congressman Sherman (District 32) delivered a heartfelt commencement address at both ceremonies. He was especially energized by the number of skilled trades graduates, saying “I want to thank the school for educating the next generation of people who will literally build the San Fernando Valley!” —a powerful reminder of the impact our graduates are poised to make in their local communities, especially the fire-ravaged community of Pacific Palisades in the Congressman’s district. Graduates were also honored to receive personalized certificates of recognition from Congressman Sherman, as well as Congresswoman Luz Rivas (District 29) and Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel (District 46), as described below.
Special Recognition & Celebration
Congressman Sherman signed a beautifully personalized Certificate of Congressional Recognition for each graduate. He also hand-delivered a second U.S. Capitol–flown flag, symbolizing UEI College Reseda’s outstanding service to the San Fernando Valley, complete with a certificate of authenticity. The Congressman personally shook hands with every single graduate. He also took time after the ceremonies to socialize with guests, including taking photos with graduates and their families.
Although not present, newly elected Congresswoman Luz Rivas (District 29) honored UEI’s Allied Health and Skilled Trades valedictorians with certificates of congressional recognition, and Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel (District 46) also signed personalized Assembly certificates of recognition for all graduates.
UEI College in Reseda extends our thanks to all.
