Administrative Medical Assisting Duties

In this module, the student will learn the basic responsibilities of the medical assistant and the duties performed by them on the job. Students will learn the basics of medical law and ethics and the importance of documentation in the workplace. The student will get a basic understanding of HIPAA law and improve their communication skills. The student will practice related concepts in the laboratory including injections, venipuncture, asepsis technique and triage, as well as computer career skills regarding keyboarding, front desk, and back-office procedures. There are no prerequisites.
Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology

During this module, the student will gain a better understanding of the anatomical system and the manner in which the body works. This module teaches students about the mechanical functions of the body and how pathophysiology takes its toll on creating illnesses. Radiology preparation for patients is also covered. Lab practices include injections, venipuncture, asepsis technique, and triage. There are no prerequisites.
Office Environmental Safety, Infection Control and Laboratory

This module describes the effects of contamination on the body and teaches safety against viruses and bacteria. Topics include microbiology, the lymphatic system, and aseptic technique. Lab practice includes injections, venipuncture, and triage. There are no prerequisites.
Psychology and Special Senses

Students will gain a better understanding of nerves, psychology, and the effects of medications on the body. The module also covers psychology's impact on patients and sensory organs (eyes and ears). Lab practices include injections, venipuncture, asepsis technique, and triage. There are no prerequisites.
This module covers managerial and bookkeeping techniques, including finances, insurance, and accounts receivable, along with digestive and urinary system pathologies. Lab practices include injections, venipuncture, asepsis technique, and triage. There are no prerequisites.
Clinical Medical Assisting Duties

This is the CPR module that prepares students for emergencies, covering cardio-pulmonary system understanding and nutrition's effects on it. Lab practices include injections, venipuncture, asepsis technique, and triage. There are no prerequisites.
Pharmacology and Office Emergencies

Topics include reproductive health, the endocrine system, pharmacology mathematics, and pharmaceutical effects on the body. This module enhances back-office procedures. Lab practices include injections, venipuncture, asepsis technique, and triage. There are no prerequisites.
Externship provides a realistic workplace environment where students refine technological, procedural, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Students apply classroom training at approved facilities under supervision. Satisfactory completion is required for graduation. Prerequisite: Successful completion of modules 110-170.
