Returning to school marked a turning point in Randall Clayton’s life, offering him the chance to focus on personal growth while creating a brighter future for his family. As a father who started his family young, Randall had spent years providing for others but never had the chance to focus on his own potential. Now, through the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program at United Education Institute (UEI) in Morrow, he’s honing his skills, gaining confidence, and creating a stable foundation for his family’s future.
“It’s an inspiration for my kids to see me go back to school and take advantage of this opportunity,” Randall shared. “They’re used to seeing me run my own company and work hard, but this is different. It’s about showing them that it’s never too late to invest in yourself.”
Randall has always been skilled, but his busy life as a provider left little time to sharpen those abilities. Enrolling in UEI gave him a second chance to focus on what he loves and explore new opportunities. “This program has prepared me for a career I never thought I’d have,” he said. “It’s given me the motivation to settle into myself, digest what I’m learning, and use it for the future.”

While Randall has an open mind about the HVAC field, he’s particularly drawn to the commercial side, where he sees potential for both growth and financial stability. For him, this journey isn’t just about personal success; it’s about creating a better life for his children.
“Knowing that HVAC offers so many avenues keeps me motivated. It’s exciting to see how my options are growing,” he said.
One of the most rewarding parts of Randall’s experience has been connecting with his peers and instructors. “I’m kind of like the class dad,” he said with a laugh. “It’s been great to meet people with different outlooks who share the same goals. The instructors have been wonderful too—they’ve helped me stay at the top of my class.”
Randall is determined to finish strong and make his mark in the HVAC industry. “This program has given me the confidence to put myself out there,” he reflected. “It’s been challenging, but it’s absolutely worth it—for me and for my family.”
