REPETITIVE WORK

Working in a pharmacy is tough, especially since the work is repetitive. Pharmacy technicians are expected to perform the same job duties repeatedly throughout their shift and throughout their time at the pharmacy.

You will find that your day consists mostly of receiving and filling prescriptions, answering customer’s questions, and taking payment for medications. This type of work can become tedious after a while and you may even find yourself bored or ready for a challenge.

STRESS

Stress is another con to becoming a pharmacy technician. Some of the main stressors include perfection, large customer loads, and accuracy. It is VITAL that you correctly fill each prescription that comes into the pharmacy and this can put a lot of stress on one individual, especially when you have a line of customers waiting on you.

Pharmacy technicians also find themselves dealing with stress when it comes to customers as well. Customers can become upset and you may take the brunt of their anger and frustration, which can be taxing.
